Road Cycling Adventures
These trips are loaded with fabulous cycling and great food; they’re perfect for busy people in need of escape.
Spend your days riding in the shadows of magnificent Cathar châteaux, along mind-blowing river gorges, through local vineyards, up and over foothills and into the majestic high Pyrénées.
Our ride leaders will keep you well off the beaten track and show you routes only those with local knowledge know; think breathtaking views and unbelievably quiet roads. We’ll ensure you get the very best from your time on the bike.
When you’re off the bike you can switch off in the tranquil surroundings of Zero Neuf. Eat, drink and kick back in our on site café, take a dip in our saltwater pool or wild swim in the river at the bottom of our garden. You’ll return home re-energised and well fed with a clearer mind and stronger legs.

DAY ONE
THE ORIENTATION
We’ll collect you from Toulouse / Carcassonne airport and once you’re settled at Zero Neuf and your bike has been set-up, we’ll head out for our first ride. It’ll be a short spin to stretch the legs and give you a small taste of what this place is all about. It’ll then be time for apéro and dinner.
DISTANCE: 45km
TERRAIN: FLAT
ELEVATION: 125m
DAY TWO
THE GRAND BOUCLE
We head North West today, out to the Portes d’Ariège. This is a land of river valleys, ridges and elevated medieval villages. We’ll take you on magical roads lines with plain trees that appear built for cyclists with punchy climbs and sweeping descents. The picture postcard village count and wow factor is high. The Pyrénées will be in almost constant view today and from this aspect they look incredible.
DISTANCE: 115km
TERRAIN: LUMPY
ELEVATION: 1000m
DAY THREE
THE TROIS COLS
This loop is one of our favourite rides; we head South and start the day spinning along lush, green river valleys before three brilliant climbs, each one very different from the last. First up is the Col de Montségur; think gorges, switchbacks and an ancient château in an unimaginable place! We’re off into the wilderness next for the Col de la Lauze where vultures soar and marmots roam. Fast and technical descents follow these two climbs and then there are lots of BIG views before the final climb of the day; the superb Prat d’Albis – a brand new summit finish at the 2019 Tour de France and a mountain that is sure to become a regular feature in the race. It’s tough but an absolute belter.
DISTANCE: 165km
TERRAIN: HIGH MOUNTAINS
ELEVATION: 3000m
DAY FOUR
THE GROTTE
We head West out over the region’s rolling foothills and a quick visit to a Grande Sites des Pyrénées (it will blow your mind). From here we head South and hit the tough but hugely rewarding climb of the Col de la Crouzette. Once we’ve crested it, you’ll then ride over the Col de Pradel, Portel and Péguère (they sit on the same ridge) and the views of the high mountains above the glorious Massat Valley are amongst the best in the Pyrénées. There’s a brilliant 30km descent next before a stop in medieval Foix and a well deserved beer. From here, it’s a gentle ride back to Zero Neuf.
DISTANCE: 139km
TERRAIN: HIGH MOUNTAINS
ELEVATION: 2100m
