Summary
Our Girona In Bound tour will start with a relaxing two night stay at Zero Neuf before we take you, guided and fully supported, from one largely undiscovered cycling paradise to another, globally renowned cycling mecca.
Over four days, we’ll traverse the farmland and ancient forests of the Ariège, crest the majestic high peaks of the Pyrenees and ride into the northern reaches of Catalunya with its ancient towns, villages and vineyards, before our arrival in Girona. Once we’re settled in Girona, we’ll head to the crystal clear waters of the mediterranean with a pedal along the stunning Costa Brava coastline.
This is not a race. It’s a chance for you and your mates to indulge yourselves, spend time on the bike, off the clock, your eyes wide open. We’ll take care of everything but the cycling – that’s up to you. You’ll eat great food, stay in lovely hotels, share incredible experiences and ride some of the world’s best terrain.

Day One – Zero Neuf (Arrivals)
We’ll meet in Toulouse or Carcassonne and it’s then a short, one hour transfer back to Zero Neuf. We’ll take care of bike builds and for anyone renting, your bike will be waiting for you. There’ll be time to use the pool, jump in the river or simply hang out in the bar and garden, before welcome drinks and dinner.
Day Two – Orientation Ride
After an easy start to the day and with breakfast out of the way, we’ll head out for a 50km orientation ride to ensure everyone’s happy and comfortable on their bikes. The day’s route takes us out to a beautiful medieval town, called Mirepoix, where we’ll stop for lunch and drinks. There’s a few short climbs to get legs moving and panoramic views of the Pyrenees, which we’ll tackle on day three. Dinner will be back at Zero Neuf with time beforehand to swim and chill.
Day Three – Zero Neuf to Quérigut
Distance – 116km
Elevation – 2,820m
Our guides and support van will be ready and after breakfast, we’ll leave Zero Neuf and head due south towards the Pyrenees. The day’s ride will start on rolling terrain, the high mountains in constant view. When we reach the thermal spa town of Ax-Les-Thermes, following the glorious Route des Corniches, we’ll enter the Haute Pyrenees and our high point of the day, the ascent of the mighty Port de Pailheres (alt 2,001m). The day concludes with a foray into the wilds of the Aude.
Day Four – Quérigut to Puigcerdá
Distance – 80km
Elevation – 1,820m
We’re deep in ‘Cathar’ country now; steeped in history it’s a land of castles, abbeys and medieval citadels. It’s also home to breathtaking mountain scenery, a rich tapestry of quiet roads, sleepy villages and our crossing point into Spain.
Day Five – Puigcerdá to Camprodon
Distance – 94km
Elevation – 1,430m
Leaving Puigcerdá behind we’ll start climbing up to the day’s high point, the Col de la Creueta. A classic in Spanish cycling, it’s featured regularly in La Vuelta and La Volta a Catalunya. The views from it’s summit are incredible and the descent looks like a scalextric track unfolding beneath you. The road surface is ace and the fun factor is BIG! A quick ravito in the delightful Castella de n’Hug (and the biggest croissant you’ll ever see!) before the day’s end in Camprodon.
Day Six – Camprodon to Girona
Distance – 91km
Elevation – 1,060m
Today we make our way to Girona via some of Catalunya’s best roads and locations. We’ll ride south through the village of Beget, winding our way through olive groves and forests before a ravito at the lakeside village of Banyoles. From here, we’re only a short ride from Girona and a chance to soak up the atmosphere of this world renowned cyling mecca. There’s also the option to extend the ride and head out to the Costa Brava, along the stunning coast road. This will be a super chilled affair with coffee, beer and patatas bravas stops along the way. We’ll then have a final dinner at a locally revered pintxos restaurant and a chance to reflect on the week’s ride!
Day Seven – Fin
The trip officially ends today but you will have the chance to stay on in Girona, if you wish. For those heading home, transfers back to your chosen return airport is included.
