Whether your into cafe runs, epic mountain rides or simply sipping on a local beer by the pool, Zero Neuf has it all. Joss & Mike’s stylishly refurbished farmhouse and gite is situated on a bucolic bend in the river Hers, which is perfect for a post-ride recovery dip.The surrounding landscape offers an embarrassment of idyllic lanes, leafy climbs and breath-taking panoramas. Mike knows the area like the back of his hand, and led us on a guided ride to the historic village of Puivert where we sampled the delectable beers of Brasserie de Quercorb. Mike was also able to provide us with a carefully-crafted route for the following day’s escapade into the high mountains. Classic Tour climbs such as the Col de Port, Port de Pailheres and the formidable Mur de Peguere are all accessible in the saddle. We chose to take a more relaxed approach on the 3rd day, this time opting to enjoy the incredible Pyrenean views from the infinity pool. In short, if you’re a cyclist I couldn’t recommend Zero Neuf highly enough. If you’re not – little matter; the warmth of the hospitality and tranquility of the location are reason enough to stay there.
